Saint Patrick’s Day is almost here, and that can only mean one thing. It’s time to throw on some green, and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day- Dallas style! Let us give you the ultimate guide to celebrate this weekend, and future events to come.
The Dallas St. Patrick’s Parade and Festival, now in its 38th year, is the largest St. Patrick’s parade in the Southwest and one of Dallas’ biggest events. There will be amazing marching bands, bag pipers, dancers and more along the 2-mile parade route. Best of all, the parade is free to attend along the parade route, which runs south on Greenville Avenue. If that wasn’t enough, immediately following the parade, Jimmy Eat World will be headlining the Dallas Observer Concert at Energy Square! Both of these events will take place Saturday, March 11th. Festival starts at 11:00 am. Gates for the concert open at noon, in Energy Square (Greenville Ave. & University Blvd.). Admission is $15 in advance. 21+.
Lower Greenville is having a St. Patrick’s Day Parade of their own Saturday, March 11th! For over 30 years, Lower Greenville has thrown the largest St. Patrick’s Day block party in Dallas. Hosted by The Greenville Commerce Association, the annual Lower Greenville Avenue St. Patrick’s Block Party takes place Saturday, March 11th from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Greenville Avenue (2800-2950) between Vanderbilt and Vickery. There will be 3 stages with awesome live music. Delicious beer, wine, and food will be available for purchase at participating restaurants. Cost is $10 per person (cash at the door) and attendees must be over 21 years of age. No backpacks, large purses, containers or coolers are allowed.
If there’s a band that can make you get up and dance, it’s Sleigh Bells! They will coming to Dallas this weekend to bring you hits like: “Rill Rill”, “Crown on the Ground”, and more! Sleigh Bells will be accompanied by Tunde Olaniran, a funky and innovative triple threat with skills as an MC, singer, and producer! This will be a show you can’t miss! This event will take place Saturday, March 11th at the Granada Theatre. Tickets start at $30.
Spring has sprung! The Dallas Blooms festival is a spring must-do. This event is the South’s largest spring floral festival and its theme for this year is “Flower Power”! The Dallas Arboretum’s floral festival features more than 500,000 spring blooming bulbs, florally decorated topiary Volkswagen Bugs, and special activities. This breathtaking festival will show you colors your eyes have rarely seen, and it’s fun for the whole family. This event will take place Friday, March 10th. Hours run from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Tickets start at $15.

Local Brews Local Grooves is an event that’s guaranteed to show you a good time! The House of Blues will be hosting their semi annual festival March 18th at 4:00 pm. This festival will feature more than a dozen local craft breweries, more than 10 talented musical acts such as: Crystal Yates, BRYCE, Jack Thweatt, and many more! General admission is $14, but does not include beer samples. General admission plus a wristband worth five samples is $29. VIP packages, which include two tickets, two sampling wristbands, entry at 3pm and more, are $60. Must be 21 or older to attend.
One of the most anticipated shows of 2017, is coming up very soon!! SOHN will be coming to Dallas to showcase his latest album “Rennen”. SOHN has reinvented the meaning of live music sampling and creating a unique masterpiece on stage, right before your eyes. In what seems like a sea full of mundane repetitious artists, SOHN is a refreshing reminder to always go with your own personal, unique sound. This event will take place Sunday, March 19th. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Tickets start at $17.
